Recommended video upload specifications

Recommended video upload specifications

  • We support almost all types of video files, but recommend MP4 format.

For converting videos to .mp4, we can recommend the free online service CloudConvert.

  • The resolution should be 1080p or less. For optimal video quality, upload HD videos.

  • The maximum file size can be up to 1 GB.

If the value on your platform is less than 1 GB and the size of your video exceeds the allowed size, you can ask a user with administrative rights to increase this value in the administration panel up to 1 GB .

  • Although we support file sizes up to 1GB, longer upload times may occur for larger files on slower internet connections.

  • We also recommend stereo AAC audio compression at 128 kbps or higher if possible.

The following formats are not supported

  • MOV (QuickTime Movie):
QuickTime formats may have limited support outside of the Apple ecosystem and on certain platforms.

Since .mov format is the iOS format, our service automatically converts these files to .mp4 format for proper viewing on web browsers and Android devices in the iOS app.

Please note that this conversion will only occur after the post is saved and the post author will receive a notification that the video is not yet available for viewing as the conversion is taking place.

This conversion is not supported in web browsers.
Therefore, convert your video to .mp4 format if you want to upload your .mov video through web browser.

  • WMV (Windows Media Video):
Web browsers based on WebKit (such as Safari) may have limited or no support for WMV due to codec limitations.

  • AVI (Audio Video Interleave):
Although AVI is a container format that contains video and audio, support may be limited due to the type of codec used inside the file format.

  • FLV (Flash Video):
Adobe Flash, which was once widely used for FLV playback, is no longer supported by most modern browsers because Flash technology is obsolete.

  • MKV (Matroska Multimedia Container):
Some browsers may have problems playing MKV files due to the codecs used in them.

  • RM (RealMedia):
The RealMedia format may not be supported in some browsers due to its idiosyncrasies and use of proprietary technologies.

For maximum compatibility with web browsers, it is recommended to use HTML5 video formats such as MP4 (H.264), WebM (VP9/VP8) and Ogg (Theora/Vorbis). These formats offer better support in most modern browsers without having to install additional plugins or codecs.
